Diet is included in a man’s health, but it’s not the only thing that matters. Here are 5 health tips that any man can follow to become healthier.
1. Stop smoking
Sadly being overweight has been the reason why many men have taken up smoking. It is true that smoking is associated with losing weight, but what are the costs really? Is it really worth it? If you live a healthy life, full of exercise and a balanced diet, you don’t need to start smoking in the first place!
2. Drink plenty of water
You need to keep yourself well hydrated, and you can do that by drinking at least 8 glasses of water every day. Particularly now that summer is here, you do need your body to have healthy fluid in your body (and by healthy fluid I don’t mean beer!).
3. Eat more protein
What are proteins in the first place, you might ask. Chicken, a nice tuna sandwich, beans, nuts, whole grains are all example of it. Try to avoid eating too much white bread, and sugar. If you like too much red meat, stick with the leanest cuts, choose smaller portion sizes, and make it only an occasional part of your diet, such as during the weekend.
4. Drink more tea instead of coffee
Green and black tea are very healthy and will protect your body from free radicals. Tea is a also rich source of antioxidants that helps a lot in protecting against some types of cancers and cardiovascular disease.
5. Relax for at least 20 minutes
Working non-stop every day is not good for your health. If you are not negative to meditation, you can pick it up very easily with some meditation tips. Or simply go walk in the park for 20 minutes. If you have a dog, make sure it’s you who is walking it, so you also get your time off.
