Diet might not appeal you to, but you can still lose your fat. Focus rather on ways to improve your eating habits, to start eating healthily to lose your fat permanently. There’s less stigma attached to eating healthily than to diet and you won’t feel as deprived as if you were actually on a real diet.
Before going to a pub, eat a healthy meal at home. This way you won’t be tempted in eating snacks all the time while you’re there. Also make sure that you drive on the way to the pub. This way you won’t be tempted to consume a high amount of beer. If your friends ask you about your ‘weird’ habits, just tell them a little white lie, don’t be afraid to. If your image in front of your buddies is important but still wants to do what’s right for you, then it’s ok. For example, if you stopped drinking alcohol, just tell them that you’re on antibiotics; if you’re not going to eat those fries and the burger, tell them you have high cholesterol and the doctor has told you to cut down on fat; or that you’re in training for some kind of sporting event like a half marathon or triathlon.
Remember the good old high school and college years? Did you like playing football, soccer, basketball or anything else ’sportsy’? Get back in the habit of doing it again. Join a local sporting club. Also you can arrange a ‘kick that ball’ weekend with your friends for the sake of ‘old times’, and make that a weekend habit. Not only you’ll help yourself, but also the others at the same time.
